Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank Donation Site

We are now a drop-off location for the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank. Times are tough for us all. Many in our area find themselves without a job and children at home all day. This has increased demand on the Food Bank. To meet the need, they are requesting donations of children friendly food and items that are easy to open. Some suggestions are fruit cups and applesauce, vegetable cups, canned tuna and chicken with pull tabs or in packages, peanut butter,  beans, soups, noodles.  They are also looking for basic daily necessities like toothpaste, deodorant, and soaps.

Donations can be dropped off at our store during open hours: Wed, Thur, Fri, & Sat 10am to 6pm each day.

Donations to "From the Heart"

We have a few knit hat and mitten kits available.  We will  provide volunteer knitters with a pattern and yarn to knit a hat or mittens.  We ask that volunteers sign out the yarn, then return the finished project to us.  We will collect the donated items and deliver them to From the Heart.  From the Heart distributes donations locally; the area they support covers Stafford to Montross to Culpeper. 

If you are interested in knitting or crocheting items of your own, they are also looking for socks, baby items, blankets of all sizes up to twin, and dialysis/chemo mitts (long fingerless mitts).   We will collect any item you would like to donate and ensure that From the Heart receives them.

MANARC is facilitating an Easter Basket drive for veteran's children, and we decided to adopt one. 

We are asking our Untangled Purls Family to consider helping us create a basket full of fun and well wishes as we thank this family for their service to our country.  We are asking for donations be brought to the store no later than Wednesday, March 17th.

Justin is the six year old son of a veteran.  He and his mother are here in the Fredericksburg area while Dad is overseas.
