Papillon - Butterfly Shawl Technique Class – In-Person
The Papillon- Butterfly Shawl is known for its beauty & creative use of Short Rows. This class will guide you understanding the pattern & techniques used. M1L/M1R increases, Wrap & Turn Short Rows, Carrying yarn up the sides. We will make a pattern swatch in class, working to learn how the short rows, & increase work together, using a lifeline & keeping row counts.

Materials Needed (not included in class fee):
- Pattern - Papillon – Butterfly by Marinja
- YARN – Practice Swatch - 100+yds of Fingering – DK Yarn
(Pattern uses fingering but for swatch you can use heavier yarn)
- NEEDLE – Appropriate 24” or longer Circular Needle for Yarn choice
(Suggestion Size 4, fingering/ size 5 Sport/ Size 6 DK)
- NOTIONS - Split Stitch Markers, Highlighter Tape, light Yarn for Lifeline (1-2 yds)
Class Preparation:
Cast on 61 stitches & knit 1 row. Must be done before class
Yarn for Shawl:
Students will be given the opportunity to purchase the URTH yarn for this shawl before the public at the end of class.
Class Policy:
Refunds for Prepaid Classes can only be made if we are notified at least two (2) weeks in advance of first class date. Missed Classes will not be made up unless Instructor was unable to teach or shop closed for inclement weather. No refunds for missed classes.
